Expanded Learning (ELOP)

What is Expanded Learning?

Expanded learning refers to any educational program or strategy that increases the amount of time students spend learning, typically outside of the traditional school day or year. This includes before and after school programs, summer programs, extended school days, and online learning options. The goal is to provide students with more opportunities to develop their academic, social, emotional, and physical skills and interests.

In the Grass Valley School District, two different before and after school programs are provided for our families.  Both programs come with specific State guidelines that must be followed by GVSD. One program is called CCTR Year Round Care; the other is our ASES program.

All Grass Valley School District after-school programs are committed to creating a welcoming and safe space where every child belongs. We actively foster an inclusive environment that celebrates the diverse backgrounds, identities, and abilities of our families. We are dedicated to providing equitable opportunities for all students to learn, grow, and thrive together, regardless of race, gender, culture, or ability.
